Chillingham Castle is a castle in the village of Chillingham in the northern part of Northumberland, England.
map coordinates 55.526, -1.905
The castle was originally a monastery in the late 12th century. In 1298, King Edward I stayed at the castle on his way to Scotland to battle a Scottish army led by William Wallace. A glazed window in a frame was specially installed for the king, a rarity in such buildings at the time. The castle became the seat of the Grey family, and in 1344 a Licence to crenellate was issued by King Edward III to allow battlements to be built, effectively upgrading the stronghold to a fully fortified castle, of quadrangular form. You can book a stay and possibly see the ghost of a lady murdered during the reign of Charles II in order that her husband might have her sister.

Kasteel Hof van Roosendal is located in Merksem, Antwerp, Belgium.
map coordinates 51.248855, 4.446744
The trials of finding information on lesser known castles means that there may not be any docuumentation available on the web. I'm sure the local library and church has some record of this castle. But at present all that I can tell you that it is old enough to have been built with a moat. The moat is still there and the slightly modernised building is still accesses via a bridge.

Jannée Castle is a castle in Jannée in the village of Pessoux, Belgium.
map coordinates 50.283, 5.209
The castles origins are rather vague. It seems to have been built in the twelfth century as a refuge for the dependency of the Barony of Woot de Jannée. The castle was heavily rebuilt in the seventeenth century and most of the moat filled in. Though in satellite photos you can still trace the moat's outline. Now the castle welcomes guests as a hotel.

Cabra Castle is the name given to two castles, one now ruined, the other now used as an impressive luxury hotel. They are very near Kingscourt in south-east County Cavan, Ireland.
map coordinates 53.919815, -6.802268
The original castle is believed to have belonged to the O'Reilly family and was built in the twelfth century. It was confiscated by Cromwell on his march of destruction through Ireland. Many records were lost. The lands were granted to the Kooch family who built the newer castle between 1790 and 1800. You can stay in the newer castle which is reputed to be haunted. But from the reviews it seems to be more haunted by unruly wedding guests than ghosts.
