Homefinding thoughts for my pug

Sadly, our dogs managed to pop our gate open on Sunday and escape.  We spent most of the day searching for them, with no luck.  Amazingly, our big dog found her way home Monday morning, she is very skiddish around strangers & won't come near them.   But sadly, our pug hasn't found his way back to us.  I'm guessing someone picked him up, he is extremely friendly and loves people (and food).  My hubby checked the local shelter, put an ad in the paper, called the local vets...  We miss him terribly.

He's in my thoughts. Best of luck finding him.

So sorry to hear that.  Did you try craigslist at all?  A few years back we found both a cat and dog at separate times that were pets and took them in until we could find their homes.  Both times we either found the owner's posting on craigslist or had the owner respond to our posting on craigslist in order to make sure they got back to their families.  Good luck and hopefully you will find him!

Trillium

I hadn't thought of craigslist!  Thank you for the suggestion!

I am sending you positive energy in finding your Pug and that he/she returns healthy and safe.  By any chance is your Pug micro-chipped?  If so, notify the the micro-chipped company and they will place for free an email to all those in your local area signed up for lost pet info and to the local vets.  Keep checking in with the local vets.  I am glad your big dog made it home safe.

Trillium

Yes, he is microchipped!  Didn't know they would do that.  Will dig out the info tonight.

Our vet calls the microchipping as "Lojack for Dogs". He scanns every pet that comes through his door, just to make sure no missing or stolen pets show up. He tells of a co hort of his who scanned a dog that some said they bought on craigs list. Turns out the dog had dissapeared/stolen from someone across town a couple months before. Got the dog back to it's rightful home.
Also talk to your noseiest neighbor, it sounds silly but it works.  That neighbor has their nose in everything going on in the neighborhood, and might have seen something. It worked for us. Our noisey neighbor saw how a family down the road had 'aquired' a pure blood female american eslimo named 'Snowy'.  We went down there, and we called our dogs name, and she came running to us as fast as she could.  Well until the choaker chain & barker breaker she was on pulled her up short.  >:(  Trust me if I hadn't been so happy to see her , that dude and I would have had words. Grrr....
LSS we got our dog back because our neighbor had her nose out for anything out of the ordinary.   Asking around, couldn't hurt.

It is kind of strange watching your personal history become costume.

Our neighbors know already and have been keeping an eye out.  Plan on taking the other dog for a walk tonight, see if maybe we can flush him out.  Put up a notice at a vets office, our friend's tattoo shop, and a gas station in our neighborhood.  Most of the large stores don't have anywhere to post...

I'm sorry to hear about your pug. Everyone has already given any advice that I could think of, so I'm sending positive engery your way for a safe return home for your four legged friend.

Ferret

Craigslist is an excellent suggestion. Lost section and pets section.

And daily check every humane society and pound in your area, in person. Their descriptions over the phone or internet can leave a lot to be desired.

Best wishes for a safe return.

Good luck to you... I know I'd be lost without my "kids."

I'm splendid. That is all.
