I like to mug people for their I-Pods and the benefit is each time I get a nice random sampling of music.

Actually, I listen to the cable TV's music channels every now and then.. I think the channel is called "hitlist"..

My amazing wife.
The Lovely Lady Trinn was raised to truly appreciate art and music both and has an excellent ear for finding new local artists. It took me just this side of forever to rip the Lovely Lady Trinn's music onto my ipod.
I also use I-tunes and amazon.com when I am looking someone up and see the "similar results" to find new people doing stuff I like. That was how I got hooked on Great Big Sea and others of that type.
I rarely now to listen to top-40 radio regardless of who might be on, I just plug in my ipod and let it go. I have enough stuff on it now that it won't repeat for about 2-3 months and I'm still adding.

*Nothing better than sippin' rum and listening to sea shanties though...*
