The Bergedorf Castle is the only preserved castle in the Hamburg metropolitan area in Germany.

The origins of the castle Bergedorf have so far not clearly clarified.  In documents the castle is mentioned as a "strong house" for the first time in the fourteenth Century. However, in 1208, Count Albrecht of Orlamünde dammed the river Bille and built a mill. The foundations and moat of the castle appear to be of thirteenth century construction.

The original castle was built in the Thirteenth Century as a defensive and residential tower. As a royal property it was continually enlarged over the years.

Reis Magos is a castle or fortification located on the northern bank of the Mandovi River in Goa, India.

The Fort, originated as an armed outpost of the Adil Shah of Bijapur in 1493. When Bardez was conquered by the Portuguese in 1541, the Fort was built along with the church. Reis Magos in Portuguese is usually rendered as Tres Reis Magos, or The Three Kings of the biblical story of Jesus' birth. The current castle  was erected in 1551 to protect the narrowest point at the mouth of the Mandovi estuary.

Leighlinbridge Castle, also called Black Castle, is situated in the village of Leighlinbridge, County Carlow, Ireland.

One source says that in 1180 Hugh de Lacy built the first castle here to defend the river crossing,[3][4] while another states that in 1181, John de Clahull built one of the earliest strongholds of The Pale here.

Chateau Bissy-sur-Fley, also known as Chateau Pontus de Tyard, is located in the municipality of Bissy-sur-Fley in Saône-et-Loire, France.

The castle was built sometime before 1350, the date of the marriage of Claude de Tyard, Esquire, with Françoise Bissy. The castle appears to have been her dowry.

The château de Lagrange-Monrepos is originally a castle medieval controlling Valley Baise , near Nerac, France.

The castle supposed to have been built originally by Henry I of Albret, before the 14th century. In 1550 the castle was almost completely rebuilt  by Henry II of Albret, when he became King of Navarre. Currently the castle is a listed monument in private ownership.

Burg Gruttenstein is a castle in Bavaria.  It is located in Bad Reichenhall in Germany.

The builder and the construction point is still unknown, but probably in the 12th  Century a stone fortification served as the residence of the Hallgrafen als Wohnsitz. The Bavarian Duke, Reichenhall Gruttenstein, began in 1218 with the reconstruction of Gruttenstein Castle.

Burg Dollnsten is a castle in Dollnstein, Bavaria, Germany.

The origin of the castle is possibly as early as 1107. The castle is built on top of and around a rock outcropping. No later than 1147, the castle was owned by the Earl of Grögling. Part of the castle were demolished in the 1800's.

Koszeg Castle , also called Jurisics Castle after Croatian nobleman Miklos Jurisics, is located in K?szeg, Hungary.

Koszeg castle first mention in 802 comes from the Einhard chronicle referenced as castellum Guntionis. As it stands today, there is still the inner and outer castle; but the old moat is now roads.

Kondaveedu Fort (Kondavid, Kondavidu) is located in Kondaveedu village in India.

Kondaveedu Fort was constructed by Prolaya Vema Reddy. Later it was ruled by the Reddy dynasty between 1328 and 1428 and then taken over by Gajpathis of Orissa. The walls, or ruins of walls, encompass most of the hilltop.

Hazareh Castle, also known as Bibi Minoo, is located in Minab City, Iran.

The adobe and sandstone castles are indeterminate origin; but pre-date the 1500's. Once there were a pair of castles Bivbi Manoo and Bibi Nazanin but time and vandalism have erased Bib Nazanin. Under Roman rule, the city was known as Harmosia.

Quart Castle is one of the castles in the Aosta Valley, Italy.

The Quart castle stands on a steep promontory on both sides, at the entrance of Valsainte .  The oldest part was built in 1185 by Jacques de la Porte de Saint-Ours , founder of the dynasty of the Lords of Quart.
